TI’A MOANA – BORA BORA’S WONDER BABY

The Ti’a Moana, the twin to the Tu Moana, is a sleek, slender, elegant beauty that boasts of eighteen staterooms, two suites, a restaurant, two bars, several lounges, an onboard spa and a library. The shiny exterior is an absolute match for the glistening interiors. An Australian beauty, this exotic Yacht was built by the Austral shipbuilders. It boasts of being ‘an experience outside of the usual tourist clichés’ and it pretty much stands up to its promise.

TIA MOANA

Design

The contemporary design of the Yacht adds to the experience of ‘pamper’ that you enter into, once aboard it.

Features

All of the 18 staterooms are on the outside. ‘Minimalist’ is the key word here. Simple lines and muted colors make for subtle beauty. All of these rooms are air-conditioned; and feature in-suite baths, mini-bars, fridges and flat-screen televisions.

The Interiors

The Ti’a Moana is an apt example of harmony between Polynesian arts. Most of the inspiration for which comes from the ship’s owner; and it is ably backed by the imagination and talent of the Swedish Design Studio – Tillberg Design. Airy rattan and wicker Bali beds welcome you in the various relaxation areas that are designed on the passenger decks.

The Decks

The top of the Yacht is home to the ‘Anapa Deck’ as it is called; which features a hot tub, lounge bar, a movie screen and lot more. The bridge deck is called ‘Vavau Deck’, and features the terrace, which makes for the perfect relaxation area. It is filled with sofas and tables; and can be used as you please – dine, converse or just plain RELAX.

The Uporo Deck houses the library, a lounge and a bar. The main deck – Hava’i- has the reception, a small gym, the spa and the restaurant. The unique Tumama Deck is a floating marine platform that is functional only when the boat is docked.

Value for Money

The cost is inclusive of all meals and snacks (except liquor, wine or bottled water). There is no hard and fast ruling on the meals, which can be served as per your whims and fancies.  The cuisine goes beyond the usual by introducing a mainly French cuisine, with a touch of Polynesian. The supper menus are fancier than the lunch.  The smoked duck breast should definitely get a try at lunch time.

Explore to your heart’s content

The Yacht also docks at various ‘motus’ or small, uninhabitated islands, and the passengers aboard have an option of lunching or dining on these ‘unexplored’ arenas.

The idea that Bora Bora cruises works on in the case of Ti’a Moana is simple – luxury meets relaxation; and it manages to deliver just that. It is recommended especially for those with a penchant for ‘exploring’. Virgin islands and waters await you!!!

A trip that you wish never had to end. But like they say, ‘All good things must come to an end’. So does this one. The cruise lasts for 7 days and 6 nights, and is worth every penny put into it.
