Cruise ship launches for 2012



There are a good number of new Cruise ships to be launched in the year 2012. CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) said that cruise ships carried over 15 million passengers in 2010 and 16 million is forecasted for the year 2011. 2012 however, is set to be a big year for the cruise industry overall, as there are a good number of cruise vessels big and small that are being launched in that year.

Major cruise ships launching in year 2012 . . .

Disney Fantasy –

Disney Cruise Line hopes to launch the Disney Fantasy, sister ship of the Disney Dream on the 7th of April, 2012. The ship will weigh 128, 000 G R T (gross registered tons) and will have four thousand passengers. Port Canaveral will be the home port for the Fantasy, and it will offer seven day itineraries to the Caribbean.

Carnival Breeze –

Carnival Breeze is the third installment in the Dream class of cruise ships. The cruise line will be launching the cruise ship in spring 2012. This is planned jst on the heels of the Carnival Magic launch in May 2011. The Dream class of cruise ships is the biggest class of cruise ships and the Carnival Breeze will have a capacity of 3, 690 passengers. The ship will weigh close to 130, 000 GRT. The Carnival Breeze will have all signature amenities such as Waterworks and Cloud 9 spa.

Celebrity Reflection –

Celebrity reflection is the 5th ship in the solstice class of ships, and is a bit bigger when compared to the Solstice class of vessels. The capacity will be 3, 030 passengers and the weight, 126, 000 GRT.

MSC Fantastica –

Spring 2012 is when MSC cruises is expected to come out with the Fantastica. This will be the twelfth vessel in t6he fleet, and will be the largest cruise ship to be launched in 2012. The ship will have 3, 500 passenger capacity, and 140, 000 GRT.
