Royal Caribbean – Serenade Winter 2012-13 Dubai Season

Royal Caribbean (RCI) has declared that the Serenade of the Seas will be deployed for the 2012 – 13 winter season to Dubai. The cruise ship will be offering travelers seventeen sailings that will depart on 7 N itineraries every Monday to Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The Brilliance of the Seas will be replaced by Serenade of the seas. The ship will offer the cruise tourists in the regional wholly different experience, and passengers can be offered a detailed exploration of the 2 nations in the Middle East. Seabourn Quest Makes Inaugural Call at Marmaris, Turkey

Seabourn Quest, following the christening ceremonies, made its first port visit at Marmaris in Turkey. The ship started its maiden voyage from Barcelona a few days ago. Seabourn Quest had four hundred and ten passengers as well as three hundred and forty four crew members on board, when it arrived at the Marmaris Cruise Port in the wee hours of the morning on Thurs, 30th June. A welcoming ceremony was organized for the occasion of the maiden voyage as well as the inaugural call at Marmaris by Seabourn Quest. The new luxury ship was welcomed according to Turkish traditions of hospitality with red roses and folk dancers. MSC Cruises Heads to Arabia

MSC Cruises has started offering itineraries to exotic locations in Arabia. The line is offering a hefty discount of fifty per cent off for one person per stateroom for winter sailings on a seven night cruise from 31 st July 2011. MSC has rates beginning from $ 649 for one person, and $ 324.50 for another, in addition to GFT’s (government fees and taxes). If you have a kid aged seventeen and lower, they can sail for as less as $ 99. P&O Cruises Replaces Tripoli in Winter Itineraries

As Libya is undergoing a period of civil unrest, P & O Cruises have replaced Tripoli as a port of call on all three scheduled itineraries. Adonia, part of the P & O fleet, has replaced a 20th Dec 2011 call to Tripoli with La Goulette on 31 s t Dec 2011 as a port of call. The call dates for Malta, Ashdod and Haifa has been changed so that the change can be accommodated. The complete itinerary, along with changes, has been given below . . . Cruise no D 1 1 5 will depart on 20 t h Dec, and will call in Naples, Salerno, La Goulette, Malta, Alexandria, Port Said, Haifa, Ashdod, Limassol and Pireaus, in the reverse order. Aruba Sees 32 pc Rise in Cruise Visitors in 2011

Aruba Ports Authority has stated that in the months of Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and May, more than forty thousand additional cruise visitors have visited the island of Aruba. This is an increase by thirty two percent, as compared to the number of passengers in the year 2010. This augment also features the 101, 363 (one hundred one thousand three hundred sixty three) passengers in the month of March. This is a simply record breaking figure. In the first five months, from Jan to May, the calls made by cruise ships to Aruba have risen by twenty per cent. The port had 203 (two hundred and three) calls in total. This was an increase from 183(one hundred eighty three) in 2010. Liverpool will lose Fred Olsen’s Business

Even though the spanking new Pier Head cruise terminal has been set up at the city center water front at the Port of Liverpool, Fred Olsen Cruises will be pulling out from the port. The cruise line was one of the most valued customers for the Port of Liverpool, and it is set to lose the business. This is despite having set up the 19 million cruise terminal, which was inaugurated in 2009. The Liverpool Port suffered the setback due to the brand new terminal being out of bounds for ship turnaround calls. Turnaround calls mean the embarking as well as disembarking commuters and supplies at the start and beginning of the voyage. This is not allowed at the Pier head Cruise terminal. MSC returns to La Goulette, Tunis

MSC Cruises gave the news that cruises offered by the company will be reinstating La Goulette at the Tunis Port in Tunisia as a port of call on their regular itineraries, beginning from July. Major cruise lines had stopped calling at Tunis since there were a few internal security issues. As the country has now returned to normalcy and the security levels become stable, MSC will be offering the port of La Gaulette as part of the itinerary for the seven night Mediterranean cruises. MSC Cruises CEO, Pierfrancesco Vago stated that tourism is one of the most important resources for the economic revival of Tunisia, and that they were proud of being able to support this. P&O Cruises Announces New Ship coming in 2015

P&O Cruises announced a considerable expansion of its fleet last week by the addition of a cruise ship weighing 141, 000 GRT. The ship will be built by Fincantieri ship yards in Italy. The new ship will be part of the service only by March 2015 at the earliest. The ship is as yet unnamed and has a capacity of three thousand six hundred and eleven passengers. The ship will be the largest in size among the fleet of P&O Cruises. The ship is the largest cruise ship that is built aiming at the British Market specifically. The ship will be built at the Monfalcone yard of Fincantieri and will have an all in cost of about € 155,000 per lower berth.
