Carnival Breeze

Carnival Breeze is one of the Dream-class cruise ships owned by Carnival and it is the most recent of the Carnival Cruise Lines ships to enter the fleet. It is the third Dream-class ship with sisters Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic and will be launched in 2012.The Carnival Breeze will be built at Fincantieri Monfalcone in Italy and this class is recently the largest to be ever built in Fincantieri. Fred Olsen Cruise Lines

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines have a touch of heritage that makes the family owned cruise company stand apart in the cruise industry. The line has a Norwegian heritage that promises expertise in seamanship. The fleet consists mostly of small ships that are famous for a more intimate genre of cruising. Carnival Valor to start 6 and 8 day Cruises from Miami from 2012

Carnival Cruise Lines enjoys the distinction of being the leader of the cruise industry in the Caribbean region. The cruise line will build upon this distinction in 2012 and launch a number of voyages ranging from 6 to 8 days from Miami. Carnival Valor will set sail for the voyages. The cruise vessel has a capacity for 2, 974 passengers, and will operate right from mid January to October 2012. Costa Victoria

Costa Victoria was the first large ship that was launched by Costa Victoria. This ship is a contemporary vessel that was built before the times of Joe Farcus from Carnival. The design is very much different from the interiors crafted by Farcus, and a chic Italian flavor dominates in the public spaces. The walls and floors are accented with marble. Ports Go the Green Route Slowly

In an effort to curb pollution, cruise ports all over the United States are opting to allow ships to switch from diesel powered engines to shore side power while they are harbored. The ships can plug in to the shore side power docks and this will prevent the ships from running their diesel engines and polluting the port side waters. While this may not be the ultimate solution for pollution, there are a good number of ports all over the United States that are using this system. This is seen as a step in the forward direction. When a ship plugs in to shore side power, the diesel engines of the ship do not have to be powered. This will reduce polluting the ocean side atmosphere and water. Cruise ship launches for 2012

There are a good number of new Cruise ships to be launched in the year 2012. CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) said that cruise ships carried over 15 million passengers in 2010 and 16 million is forecasted for the year 2011. 2012 however, is set to be a big year for the cruise industry overall, as there are a good number of cruise vessels big and small that are being launched in that year. Major cruise ships launching in year 2012 . . . Disney Fantasy – Disney Cruise Line hopes to launch the Disney Fantasy, sister ship of the Disney Dream on the 7th of April, 2012. The ship will weigh 128, 000 G R T (gross registered tons) and will have four thousand passengers.
